RE: Pics of New Eagle 322FKS

Thanks for the kind words. The white hose is just an extra water hose that DH hooked up with a sprayer nozzle..he was using it to wash some mud off the TV and just draped it up behind the propane tanks. As for towing, it towed really well without any sway problems. We have the Equalizer hitch with 12000 bars. We cruised at about 60-65mph the first trip and our gas mileage was 12.7mpg. DH says without towing anything at all, his normally gets 13.7mpg. The TV is new and only has 1300 miles so far. The second trip was longer and we cruised about 65-70 mph and got about 9.3mpg. We were with friends and trying to keep up with them. Next time we will just get a head start! Next trip will be back to Myrtle Beach for Memorial Day weekend.

RE: Trailer home from warranty work-need advice please-Long post

I would definitely suggest you look at the Jayco line. They have a 2 year warranty and we never had any problems with any of our Jaycos we owned (a pop up and 1997 Eagle). We just bought a new one and for the quality felt we needed to get another Jayco. The Jayfeather is the lightweight model line and then the first in the line of regular weight TT (being careful with what I say here lol) are the Jayflights. The new G2's in the Jayflight model series have some nice upgrades. The Eagle line follows the Jayflights. There are some very good deals out there right now on Jayco's if you find the right dealer.

RE: Alternative decor?

Another thing..if you order your TT it may be possible to have it constructed without the wallpaper border. We asked Jayco to leave it off on our new TT and it was no problem! The walls are still beige but at least I don't have the border to deal with.

Pics of New Eagle 322FKS

Hi all! Thanks to campearls, I think I can finally post some pics of our new TT. We have taken it on two trips so far and loved it! More storage space than we know what to do with and it was very roomy and comfortable! http://inlinethumb09.webshots.com/42312/2180838360103476353S600x600Q85.jpg http://inlinethumb50.webshots.com/42353/2843650250103476353S600x600Q85.jpg http://inlinethumb12.webshots.com/40523/2464232610103476353S600x600Q85.jpg http://inlinethumb22.webshots.com/27349/2066169980103476353S600x600Q85.jpg http://inlinethumb26.webshots.com/40345/2848024790103476353S600x600Q85.jpg http://inlinethumb18.webshots.com/43281/2737390080103476353S600x600Q85.jpg http://inlinethumb04.webshots.com/7491/2026230820103476353S600x600Q85.jpg http://inlinethumb34.webshots.com/37153/2583866820103476353S600x600Q85.jpg http://inlinethumb57.webshots.com/36536/2240183810103476353S600x600Q85.jpg http://inlinethumb51.webshots.com/39218/2404370680103476353S600x600Q85.jpg http://inlinethumb33.webshots.com/42144/2525987270103476353S600x600Q85.jpg http://inlinethumb09.webshots.com/29192/2755117240103476353S600x600Q85.jpg

RE: Just ordered it.

You've picked out a really nice TT and you will be very happy with it! Will it be a 2009 model with the new colors?

RE: Hate our Automatic Awning

We just got our Jayco Eagle and it has I guess what you call the steep pitch awning. It's a Carefree electric awning. We used it the last two weekends and used the rollem-up tie downs. That seemed to work very well-there was a constant steady breeze blowing at the coast. We did roll it up the night rain was predicted as we were told it does not have an automatic "dump" feature. However, I don't see why we would not be able to sit under it during a light rain.

RE: Forest River Rockwood slide problems - need help!

You also need to check the bolts on the slide-we had continual problems with them shearing off. It's a design flaw and has been discussed on another thread. We also went through 2 motors as they said the slides were designed too heavy for the motor being used. We ended up fixing then selling ours to someone who won't be moving the slide in and out so they won't have this problem. Good luck!

RE: Jayco's Carefree electric awning?

We just got our 08 Eagle 322FKS a couple of weeks ago. It has the Carefree electric awning. It does not automatically roll up when raining and it can be tied down. We bought the Roll-em-up tie downs as well as the straps to use for hanging the party lights. We had the awning out all weekend at the beach where there was a steady wind. No problems whatsoever. It was a breeze to take the lights down and the straps just roll up with the awning. We did put the awning in last night since they called for storms and enjoyed how easy it was. Also it does not automatically dump water if it builds up but it is easy to just roll it up to get rid of the water.

Worth the wait!

Well, after a 10 week wait for our new Jayco Eagle, we took delivery of it last week and headed out on our maiden voyage over the weekend. It was obvious from the start that the wait was worth it as we loved the new TT! The ride was smooth and setting up was a breeze. Everything worked perfectly and we "settled in" very quickly finding where we needed to move things inside. We had perfect weather, 80 degrees with sunshine, and even discovered Jayco had been thoughtful enough to put lights inside the closet wardrobes! We are already planning another trip out this coming weekend and hope by then it will feel like a second home! I took lots of pictures but have no idea how to post them for y'all to see.

RE: Hanging stuff on the Walls

We just hung a number of pictures and other objects on our new TT walls this weekend. We used the 3M Command hooks (of various types and sizes) and dh also put a small strip of velcro at the bottom to keep the pictures from bouncing against the wall. We took our first trip this weekend over some not-so smooth roads and everything stayed put perfectly. Nothing fell nor even tilted!

RE: rockwood or jayco?

I speak from experience..had a 1997 Jayco and never had a problem. Sold it due to the kids getting busy and we weren't using it enough. Several years later got a Rockwood. Had nothing BUT problems! Sold it and just took delivery of a new Jayco....can already tell the difference in quality. Plus, the 2 year warranty is better protection.

RE: New T.T. is in

Congrats on your new TT! Ours was actually parked right next to it and we picked it up Friday. Yours is a great model; I wish it had been available when our kids were younger! You are correct in that the folks at Camptown are absolutely wonderful. Our walk thru was fun and very informative and we even learned a few things despite the fact that we have owned TT's for 18 years! I hope you have many happy trips with your new Jayco!

RE: Opinion of forest river trailers

We had a Forest River Rockwood 8315SS and it had many problems. The worst was the slide-out problem with the bolts shearing off. Maybe they have changed the way it is designed since 2006 but what frustrated us most was the dealer wasn't even aware that it was a big problem. We had to replace the bolts about every three times we moved the slideout in or out. Aside from that, we had Concertone issues, leaks, problems with the cabinets and hinges, the furniture, the water heater....I guess ours was one of the "lemons" you can get. We were very dissappointed with the problems so fixed it, sold it and moved on to a Jayco. We have had Jayco's before without any problem so figured we would buy based on experience this time.

Woo Hoo!!! It's finally here!

Well, after months and months and months of waiting (ok, it was actually 10 weeks) our new Eagle 322FKS is here! Believe it or not, I was traveling on the interstate Monday and saw it being towed by the transport truck-talk about a coincidence! Got the call today and went to take a look at it. Love the change we made by having them omit the wallpaper border! DH wanted to put off the walk-thru and delivery until next week but reconsidered after realizing he would have to deal with me pouting all weekend! So, we are picking it up Friday! That gives us the weekend to unpack the bins of gear from our previous TT and put it in the new one. Then the maiden voyage will be the following weekend. Thanks to all who have helped me with advice during the whole process! I'll take some pics on the maiden voyage and attempt to post them.
